About Me
My parents fled communist Cuba under the ruse of honeymooning in Spain. The following year, they lied to get my near birth-ready mother onto a plane destined for California, soon after producing my sister. After a few years of adjusting to the States, they generated me. Some near-death experiences and another sibling later, I was an adult. Since then, I've pursued a mad desire for science and animals, intermittently broken by mini-rock stardom, pool, rock climbing, cartoons, and random fits of laughter. For the past two years I've been living in Seattle. Previously I was in Indiana completing a doctorate in Animal Behavior. Now I'm an Affiliate Assistant Professor at University of Washington and Research Fellow at Woodland Park Zoo. It's kind of awesome.
